Some weird Aeronautica shenanigans...

I have a small amount of old Legions Imperialis stuff I painted a year or two ago - but we never did anything with it.  While we debated trying to find some suitable rules for the stuff recently, I picked up some Legions Imperialis kits recently from our local store which is getting rid of their stock at 50% off! (woohoo!).

 

I built and painted these Avenger (ground attack aircraft basically...think an A-10 in 30K/40K).

 

This whole project will probably end up on eBay, but I enjoyed painting the things - didn't enjoy building them.  GW has made the Legions kits artificially complex...basically to sell you "fake" value in parts count, rather than model count.  Even at 50% off, I felt the kits were barely worth their price.

 

 

Knocking out Solar Auxilia infantry...

Been in a big "get stuff off my desk" mode for the past few days.  I'm trying to finish up this little epic project as it's something we won't be playing much if at all, so I just want it finished and stuffed in a box.  This is the infantry, leaving me only the accompanying Ogryns.  I'll snag one or two more simple kits and likely be done with this project.

 

 

More 8mm goodies?

Been spending the majority of my hobby time lately working on the rules for FSF (trying to actually produce a game and not let it get stuck in 85% purgatory like most of my projects).  I've been building some stuff in the background, but the only painting I've done recently is some more Legions Imperialis stuff - for some form of epic scale gaming in the future.

 

 PS: Forgot I snagged a sprue of the Malcadors from a buddy, so I whipped those up today as well:

 

 

Epic Tanks for Epic Things

While I've less than zero interest in Legions Imperialis...I've always been a fan of Epic 40K, so Epic 30K is attractive enough.  I found a handful of boxes on eBay for nearly half-off (and they showed up complete, miracle of miracles!)

 

Some of my buddies have painted some minis, so if we find a game to use them in, I'll be happy.  I have a box of Leman Russes left to finish up.
