Games: Warhammer 40K, Necromunda

Had a couple of games a week or two ago, and forgot to post some pics.  I haven't been very good about this stuff lately and the blog has suffered.  Will try to step it up!

A weird large table for a three-way game, including two Zone Mortalis style sections on opposing sides.
Imperial Guardsmen attempt to protect their objective against a Chaos Sorcerer and Obliterators
Chaos and Imperial Guard forces clash.
Guardsmen waiting for the door to be destroyed.
Eldar armour goes down in flames and is subsequently attacked by Imperial Guard cavalry.
Eldar armour is shot to pieces and returns fire.
Bullgryns are led by Imperial Guard characters - but as they open the door, a wave of Eldar firepower hits them!
A four-way game of Necromunda gets hectic.
 Goliaths taking fire in Necromunda.
The close up nature of Necromunda takes its toll.
A Chaos Cultist Heavy stands watch over the table.
 The Necromunda table.
 The Necromunda game.
Necromunda game in progress.
Shining Spears waiting to pounce on unsuspecting prey.
The Avatar sees the table for the first time in a long time!
Genestealer Cult backed up by...hefty Tyranid support!
Eldar prepare to defend supply crates from the Cult.
Wraithguard, freshly painted,  prepare to work.

An Eldar Spiritseer leads the force agains the four-armed cult.

Genestealer Cult swarm some supply crates in search of munitions.
The Avatar and Swarmlord throw down amongst the ruins.
Eldar Dire Avengers preparing to ambush the ambushers!
A quick game set-up to test some new Primaris - Crimson Fists!

Siegemaster Tropios Juut

I received a Master of Relics from a buddy for Christmas, a mini I had asked about.

Cool mini, but cast in god-awful Finecast (something I shant bother with again).  I build him up as a simple Chaos Lord to guide and control my backfield artillery and siege units.

Slow progress...

Been in a painting slump lately.  Have managed to finish an Imperial Missionary (for story and campaign purposes), and a squad of Chaos Chosen (Renegade Space Marine Veterans).

2018 Painted models...

I put together this image for a forum thread, and figured I'd post it here.  Missing a handful of minis that I didn't have appropriate pics for.

2019 off to a slow start...

After a rather long hiatus from painting/building, I quickly painted up two Dark Eldar Khymarae and one Imperial Navigator.

The Khymarae will serve as Chaos Spawn for my CSM --- they're cool designs and awful miniatures, fragile crap resin from GW.  I don't imagine they'll last more than a game or two before various parts start breaking.  The poor resin quality meant I left the dip on rather heavy and didn't flat coat it...hoping to hide the sub-quality stuff underneath.

Santa's got a new sleigh!

These are pictures of two grav trucks I picked up from Imperial Terrain as part of a secret santa gift for a fellow gamer.  I didn't post pics until we had it all delivered and sorted.  Simple but very cool trucks - I added flying posts on the bottom to make them proper hovering (as my Eldar tanks).

Pretty cool and worth a look if you need some rigs.  Painted up real quick and simple.

The Race to 100

This year has been slow as far as hobby progress is considered - the past few years I've managed 200+ miniatures.  With my armies getting closer to completion, this year has been about terrain, large vehicles, and random characters.

However, I think my goal of 100 before the end of the year is do-able.  I normally don't count terrain but I'm going to cheat and count the tractors!

The Rogue Trader from Blackstone Fortress (complete with immediately-dropped-and-broken bits...)

Spindle Drones, and Ur Ghouls from the Blackstone Fortress game.  Not much use for these, but easy to paint up.

Some of the tractors assembled for use with games and as terrain.

Chaos Beastmen from Blackstone Fortress - shown alongside a cultist for scale.

Two more Falcon bodies - they don't really fit in the lighting box.  Magnetized for use as Night Spinners or Fire Prisms.

Yderis Awakens

After a lengthy armament programme was carried out for the Wandering Sons, I've put a lot of elbow grease into bringing the somewhat meagre forces of the Yderis Craftworld back to the fore.

Two 'Hornets' to replace the ugly Vypers I sold off on eBay a while back - note I deleted the small winglets on the Hornets as I simply didn't like the look of them.  Also ten more Wraithguard (only nine in the picture, one was hiding when I took the pic).  These are armed with the Distortion Scythe in place of the normal Wraithcannon.

And there is more Eldar firepower on the way!

While enjoying my childish giggles at the phallic appearance of the Chaos Dark Apostle, I redid his power maul.

Some better pictures of the new additions.

New Dark Apostle

He's all about Apostling.  You can even ask him.

This was a figure I sold for a friend on commission a while back.  I hadn't seen this Chaplain model before and really liked it, so I subsequently ordered a used one off eBay to make into a more appropriate Dark Apostle (evil Chaplain).  I had previously done a different Dark Apostle before deciding that I would have Death Guard styled Nurgle adherents.

This is a more suitable model, so the other one will become a generic Chaos Lord or a champion of some sort.

The camera doesn't like this guy, but he looks okay in person.

 As received from eBay.
