Knocking out Solar Auxilia infantry...
Been in a big "get stuff off my desk" mode for the past few days. I'm trying to finish up this little epic project as it's something we won't be playing much if at all, so I just want it finished and stuffed in a box. This is the infantry, leaving me only the accompanying Ogryns. I'll snag one or two more simple kits and likely be done with this project.

Some ancient heralds, and some ancient Space Marines
I had two leftover cavalry I decided to make into stand-in heroes, and stand-in couriers (which can be used to guarantee command rolls once a game) for FSF.
Given the cheap Horus Heresy Mk6 space marines all over eBay I grabbed a few sets to make some marines for possible 2nd edition games in the future (my buddies and I have been talking about doing some cooperative bug hunts).
Not overly stoked with the results, but Space Marines are Space Marines. Amusingly the very first "expensive" thing I bought at age 14 with my first job was a painted squad of the original RTB01 Beakie marines from a local hobby shop. They happened to be painted red, so this is all coming full circle now.

Oktos, Exalted Champion of the Wandering Sons
...or something like that.
This is Oktos, an Exalted Champion. Like the unnamed Sorcerer in my army he sports the homage-armour of the Death Guard appearance. He's the primary opposition to Chapter Master Khyrum Saal - having embraced the attention of the Chaos Gods.
The small faction of my army which has accepted the Chaos Gods will be primarily white-armoured and will be the ones predominantly bringing in daemons and directing cultists.
It is a mystery, even to Khyrum Saal himself, why Oktos and the "true believers" have not overthrown him.

Chaos Tanks are Go!
This is probably the last of the Rhino-based vehicles I'll be doing for my CSM --- still considering a silly huge mega-tank though.

The Rhino-Russ Vindicator gets an upgrade!
While doing my third Rhino-Russ conversion I decided (mainly because
I'm cheap) that I wanted to mount my Vindicator's demolisher cannon in a
separate larger gun housing. This would free up my other turret to be
used for future Predator use.
Also, a larger superstructure would set the tank apart from the Predator much more, and might justify the Toughness 8 benefit of the Vindicator itself.
At
this point I'll have three Rhino-Russes; all three can serve as Rhinos,
two are fitted for Predator bits, and one (the non-Predator) is
magnetized for the dozer blade and will carry the Vindicator gunbox.
I'm only two sponson short of running the second Predator. This gives
me a lot of versatility in my Chaos Space Marine force - and I'm happy
for it.

The third Rhino-Russ after priming...ready for paint.
The third Rhino-Russ assembled and painted - later dipped.
Started building a box for the demolisher cannon out of plastic.
Cut down the razorback hatch and mounted some gubbins. Fitted the demolisher with wood.
Added some extra armour plating up front.
Assembled
and primed - test fitting. Note the whole gun box fits into the slot
for the normal Rhino hatch - it can be removed, all of the tanks are
modular at this point.
The Vindicator's gunbox is chipped and dipped - will be flatted and fitted tomorrow.

More wicked marines!
Finished up a Chaos Terminator squad and a handful of assault marines (for either use as actual assault marines or the occasional sergeant).

Marine "Combat Engineers" and more Eldar
I received another small ebay purchase of random Eldar guardians (old metals). This group was mainly officers which is great. In addition, I used to have half of these figures in my original Eldar force, so the nostalgia was in full effect.
I also completed five of my quasi-Mentor marines. I had them assembled when I decided to sell off my marines, so I finished them. I'll be finishing up three more jump marines and the whole bunch will go on ebay (mainly to fund additional Eldar!).

Dreadnought!
After deciding to finally dig into my Betrayal at Calth box, I set upon constructing the rather mediocre Contemptor Dreadnought. Ugly face, with stumpy legs.
I decided to kit-bash my own with a bunch of random VOTOMS bits I had sitting around. The end result is a taller/heavier looking dreadnought. Since I won't be playing 40K the equipment is irrelevant. I decided to replace the assault cannon with a multiple-barrel missile launcher.

More Mentor characters.
I knocked out a few characters assembled from random plastics I'd picked up on ebay. One is a Librarian (opted for blue robes instead of armor, deal with it!) and I fashioned a kit-bashed Techmarine from a terminator, using some random robot bits and some arms from some Dust Tactics suits I had laying around.
Opted to skip the force weapon piece on this guy - preferred a simple chainsword.
As with my other terminator bashes this is a modern torso/legs, Cataphractii arms and shoulders, a MkIV helmet (from a devastator), and some bits from a couple of Dust Tactics walkers I had laying around. Armed with a chain fist and a combi-weapon (flamer/bolter). As I won't be playing 40K the equipment is not important.

More marines!
I finished up seven more jump marines for my force. This was limited by the 12 studded shoulder pads I had available and a similar number of beakie helmets. I figured of all the forces, assault marines flying through the air deserved the sleeker helmets etc. Ground marines will share some regular MkIV stuff.
My force now consists of two offices (terminator and techno-chaplain) and the dozen jump marines. I'll probably add another squad or two of normal guys and devastators and a few more characters. I've been perusing online for cheap rhinos as I wouldn't mind having a few vehicles - hoping for some old school ones.

New recruits - seven more jump marines. Armed with a mix bolters, close combat weapons and special weapons.
The combined jump force.
Lieutenant Dan got hisself some new legs! (the others were the subject of a dip accident where it pooled horribly overnight while drying, so I broke the torso off and placed it on some newer legs!)
The techno-chaplain, terminator officer alongside one of the sergeants.

Space Marine "Techno Chaplain"?
I took the chaplain figure from the 30K Betrayal at Calth box and put him together (again using a Mechanicus head). It came out okay, though I'm not in love with the model - a bit busy compared with the other marines.
Here is a teaser for another model I'm working on (my goal is to assemble a small Space Marine force which is suitable for play with any small sci-fi skirmish game. Likely end up with a few squads and some characters, a vehicle or two).
Nothing too fancy, I "thinned" the dip...and this time it came up a little too runny!
