Some new Merciless fellas...

I decided to start an opposing "loaner" warband for Merciless using some Frostgrave and Fireforge boxes I received in a Secret Santa exchange.

They will have a kind of worn-down military unit look.  I will be adding transfers to the shields, but I first need to find some suitable ones that I like.  These guys will also serve double duty in the dungeon crawl at some point, so I've continued my themed basing for the dungeon.

Many games...and poor photos.

A couple of poor pictures from the past week.  Did a Battlegroup game on...Wednesday?  And then on Christmas day I swung by my buddy's place and we started a new Merciless campaign, his vikings/barbarians vs. my Chaos beastmen.

My Soviets barely hold a hill against a German attack.  Supported by Katyushas and artillery, the Soviets held out just long enough to break the German force.
The German force included two Tigers.  Fortunately one crew bailed out after several rounds from a Zis-3 spooked them.  The other struck a mine and was taken out-of-action.
My as-of-yet unnamed Minotaur prepares to jump a barbarian who just snagged a treasure item.
In a bad game for my opponent, my leader (Chaos Warrior on left) and my Minotaur piled through his whole warband.  He made up for it the next game, murdering most of my guys.

Zwei mas!?

Two more gangers.  I've had decent weather the past couple of days - so been trying to prime and get a few more miniatures done for the year.

Also included is a poor picture of my current gang line up.

A few more Necromunda fellas to close out the year...

Not sure if I'll have any more miniatures painted come the new year, but these last three bring my yearly total to 143 (excluding terrain built or painted).

Sorry for the crap photos, they were snapped rather quick.  Two more Orlock gangers and a drone/security droid built from one of the characters from Blackstone Fotress.

Games!: Deep Hive (Notcromunda)

Got together today with a buddy and ran three games of Notcromunda.  One win, one tie, and one loss...so, decent!  For these games we used automated sentry turrets and roving sump creatures.  They had a drastic impact on the game - causing us to both suffer analysis paralysis on occasion.  So many threats and potential disasters...

My doggo meets its match and is slain by a roving sump creature...
A sentry gun patiently waiting to be fed unwary gangers.
Thinking he was being sneaky, one of my scouts is devoured by a sump creature.
The table for the third game.
My lone hacker doing some work on a terminal, trying to make use of the sentry guns for my own purposes...
One of my brutes considering the risk of grabbing the loot (the two tokens) with the sentry gun waiting...
Ignoring its jump pack, the scout flanks wide in the second game.
The second scenario was based around five salvage tokens in the middle of a junkyard, protected by two turrets and wandering sump creatures.
My buddy's response to my flank...but he takes a bolt pistol shell for his troubles.
My gang leader was...reduced by a sentry turret.
My buddy manages to sneak a ganger in to steal some of the salvage.
My gang leader, shortly before he became mist.
Taking a risk to get that salvage!
Getting sneaky in game two.
For the three games, I chose three different collections of my now-painted gang.
The table before game one.

"They're wall to wall in there..."

A couple of quick kit-bashed sentry guns for use in our "notcromunda" setting.

Beasts and gangs and buildings and...

Minor update.  I've painted up five more alternate beastmen models - namely so I can include them in the eventual release of Caverns, Crypts & Catacombs.  They will also see service in my Merciless warbands.

I also knocked out for more gangers for my Orlock-ish gang for Notcromunda. Sorry the lighting is a bit off...

The bigger news is that my new Old West town arrived from TT Combat.  I don't know when I'll start this, but I'm doing a full town revamp - accompanied by several boxes of the plastic Great Escape Games Gunfighters I picked up a few months ago.  Been gaming the same Old West town since around 2013 and it's time for a change.  Got big plans and no idea how to realize them.

Games!: Notcromunda...again.

Been hammering out a lot of "Notcromunda" lately.  Last night I played a game with my buddy - and we continued a kind of flowing organic narrative that we're evolving with each game.  We've based our game around the Necromunda hive, and the possibly discovery of a Genestealer infant.

In our scenario last night, a rogue doctor was en route to investigate the child (possibly for cloning), and an unnamed party had hired an assassin to kill the doctor (and steal some of his DNA for a disguise/operation).  This all took place in my gang's turf so I was there to stop everyone.

Some thugs that had been hired by the assassin.
My gang leader, leading from the back!
The surgeon's security detail tries to fend off my gangers while I'm trying to find and stop the assassin.
The table for the game.
A new recruit "Dapper Dan" fails to successfully operate his jump pack for most of the game.
The surgeon's security detail is disappearing quickly.
Hoping to end it all, one of my gangers plops a frag grenade into the middle of the surgeon and one of his bodyguards.  Both escape with only minor wounds.

Games!: Notcromunda

Introduced some new players to 'Notcromunda' (working title) last night.  Had a large gang war with a third party of responding Arbites.

By the time we called it, I "think" we more or less won, but it wasn't a great victory for anyone.  Lots of bloodshed.

More scumbags.

Finished up four more 'Orlock' miniatures finished up and a handful of objective markers and scenario pieces.

The gang's (almost) all here...

With a post-apocalyptic gang game on the way, my buddy's got a hardon for Necromunda, so we're using that setting and the models as the test-bed for the game.  So far, it's worked a treat.

I'm not overly enthused by the new Necromunda model ranges, but I opted for a couple Orlocks to get started.  Since we're not playing Necromunda I can kit-bash and arm them however the hell I want (inline with the new game rules of course!).

Games!: Unnamed post-apoc game...thing...Notcromunda?

As the sister game to Merciless my new fantasy/medieval skirmish game I'm developing the post-apocalyptic sister game.  We jokingly refer to it as Notcromunda at the moment because we're mainly playing in the GW IP with models, etc.

We played a simple scenario...that I was winning until a random Ambot showed up and ripped three of my six gang members in half... :(
