Solo Battlegroup for testing

The other evening I got the Battlegroup Facebook group involved in helping me randomly design forces for a 400 point solo Battlegroup game.  I only played about four turns but it was just to see how the randomization tables worked.

I concocted D66 tables for both Soviets and Germans for 1943 (just post Kursk), with both an Attacker and Defender table for each.  I had people on the Facebook group roll for me and I assembled the two forces to try them out.  It worked pretty well.

Just some pictures from the game:

A game and some Berserkers.

Nothing much to report lately, but a small GM'ed game of Merciless.

And painted up a few more stands of Berserkers for my FSF army.

Some games...

I picked up a small collection of Star Wars Armada to have a "one box game" on hand for when we felt like playing something a bit more laid back.

Also played a violent game of Famine, Sword, & Fire - testing out a 300 point size army vs. my buddy Josh.

All aboard the struggle bus! Wooo woooo!

Been struggling to be motivated to do anything lately.  However, I had primed these five assault marines a while ago.  My enthusiasm for 40K has all but diminished, but I will try to see through this small 2nd edition force project.

Die-Cast Stuka for Battlegroup

I finally took a gamble on a die-cast Stuka in 1/100 or 1/110 scale.  It was an African theatre Stuka, so I stripped it down, sanded stuff off, and repainted it in a fake generic Eastern Front/Italian scheme.

Plastic Soldier Company 8-Rads (15mm)

I've been in a serious hobby lull since over-doing it at Siege of Augusta.  While I'm constantly working on random rules, etc...I just hadn't wanted to pick up a paint brush.

When this happens, I find 15mm is normally my easy "get out of the funk" scale since I can pick up some cool kit, paint it in an evening and feel like I accomplished something.

I grabbed the PSC 8-Rad kit (231 and variants), and threw together three of the five, stashing the last two in case I ever do grey stuff for early war.

I made a basic Sdkfz 231...one Sdkfz 233 (with the short 75mm assault gun), and a more rare Sdkfz 263 8-Rad, the weird command model featuring only a hull MG.
