This past weekend we played game...seven(?) of our narrative campaign. Here's the updated quick-fire story line:
The Dwarfs, having lost five of six games, have been on the backfoot. While word has been sent to the main Dwarf force, the hermit wizard 'Mr. Crowley' has been leading a hit-and-run resistance against the Chaos Dwarf army as it marches toward the Border Princes region. Crowley's force was driven off after a failed ambush on a Chaos Dwarf column (last game).
Word came to Mr. Crowley that the Chaos Dwarfs had been meeting with Night Goblins. A truly troubling thing...
The Night Goblins had negotiated with the Chaos Dwarfs to show them a long-abandoned entrance to a Dwarf great hall. The Chaos Dwarfs sent a force to the entrance to see if they could find a route through the dark to the Dwarf's home hall.
Crowley and his Dwarfs arrived just in time...planning to hold the bridge against the Chaos Dwarfs...
The game was a custom scenario. The Dwarfs had to find crates of gunpowder, drag them to the bridge, while holding off a Chaos Dwarf force (attacking a doorway into the mountain). Inside the abandoned Dwarf hall, Night Goblins and Sneaky Gitz would be emerging (from a random table) to attack the heroes and bridgehead.
Fortunately for my buddy he managed to sneak two crates onto the bridge at the very end, and triggered the explosives - destroying the bridge and preventing the Chaos Dwarfs from entering the hall. Sadly Mr. Crowley was cut off and left inside the abandoned hall...
