Last for the year?

I'm closing in on the end of 2016.

I snapped some pictures of two Eldar support weapons I recently finished - no crew just yet.

And then on a whim I painted up a blister of Reaper Lizardmen Tyrants I had sitting around.  I had originally purchased the blister thinking it was four normal Lizardmen (so I could bump my Lizardmen from eight to twelve).  Turns out the "Tyrants" are much larger!  This meant I put them away and forgot about them.  Simple paintjob, real quick (spray, details, dip).  Pretty happy with them.  Mounted on 30mm bases.

Second pictures shows a normal Reaper Lizardman alongside for scale.

Now the question is whether I'll paint anything in the next two days...

Yderis tally for 2016.

This year I purchased and built an Eldar army for 2nd edition (mainly 2nd ed. metals, etc.).  I started in April with a single squad of Dire Avengers.  I decided I would end with a second squad.

They're the last unit in my current army.  I'll likely not get anything else wrapped up before the new years.  As it stands now, the army is 6388 points of 2nd ed. Eldar.

I'd love to be super excited about this, but it mostly relates what happens when you're unemployed most of the year and have too much free-time.  Well, it was time well spent!

Drake's Branch new-hires...

Well, after a seriously depressing slump of not painting anything for a month or so, I was encouraged via a forum to finish up some models this month.  I did six new Knuckleduster figures and re-based another ten or so Black Scorpion metals (touching them up along the way - a lot have served table-top for the past 4-5 years and have taken some chips and damage).

I stripped down four or five Black Scorpion minis as well to re-paint them at some point.  I have some real stinkers I've never been super happy with.
