Games!: Merciless, but in a dungeon

My buddy felt like DM'ing some dungeon crawling style scenarios, so we used Merciless to do so.  It worked well, and perhaps I'll add a simple bestiary to the Merciless rules to make it easy for players to run ad hoc scenarios.

Recovering some TT Combat Terrain

Perhaps a year ago I foolishly agreed to build what turned out to be, a rather large amount of TT Combat's modular sci-fi terrain (read: alternate to GW's Zone Mortalis/Necromunda themed plastic terrain).  This labor - which turned out to be rather excessive - was in trade for some computer components I never ended up using.  All in all, not a great idea, and rather depressing as I realized I was putting in a ton of work into something I'd never play on.

Fast forward to just last week.  Having played on my buddy's TT Combat terrain I decided I'd like a set, but had resigned myself to the fact that I had no remaining desire to actually build the stuff again.  I hit up my buddy from a year back to check in on the status of his terrain.

My luck he had most of it sitting around in his garage, untouched.  I made a fair offer and picked up the terrain that I had so painstakingly assembled!

Fast forward two days.

The collected terrain, painted.

Busy hammering away on doors, painting hazard stripes, throwing on some numbered decals I had laying around, doing a 'LOT' of edge highlighting.

While I need a few more sets, the stuff I picked up is suitable, shown here on an adhoc surface of just over 2'x3' --- well suitable for a skirmish.

As you can see, I went a different colour route than my buddy's more metallic style, but this serves a purpose - the TT Combat stuff melds with...gasp..my other TT Combat stuff, namely a bunch of platforms, etc.  So, combing the two would be easy and meld nicely colour-wise.

Throw in some more scatter terrain, maybe some pipes, additional platforms, and a few more kits and it'll be a sci-fi dungeon crawling nightmare.  A nice alternative to the ash wastes or normal terrain I play on.

The bad news?  This doesn't bump my painted number for the year!

Games!: Heaps of...Scrapheap

Snuck over to a buddy's place yesterday for a day of Scrapheap testing.  I lost...almost every game, but a good time was had.  Sadly after about 10-12 games, I think this gang is probably set to retire.  Falling behind and losing too many models!

My buddy is making progress with his TT Combat 'Zone Mortalis' style board.
A Rust Warden has second thoughts about running up the stairs...
One of my buddy's best gangers flees after taking a mallet to the knee-cap.
A serf decides to attack one of my new novice brutes.
The board in the middle of the...first(?) game.
The Rust Warden runs into my Ogryn and it ends poorly.
My gang's leader 'The Silent One' swats an enemy gang with his club.
A large scrap breaks out in the 'tunnels' above the table.  We use the wall sections to represent tunnels or vents - giving the table a quick and easy two-tier set-up.
While other people are fighting, the Halfling is scrolling through 'adult content' on the computer.
One of the three or four table layouts we used.
The table for our game on a massive land-crawler owned by a crazed ex-Space Marine.
Having stolen the 'crawler', the crazed Space Marine was driving it around with a cyborg buddy.
My gang fancies a chance at finding the key.
My buddy's gang is also in search of the key.
The crazed ex-Space Marine shows up and my gang manages to kill him by swarming him with melee attacks and big hammers.
The gang leaders face off...and as usual, I lose.
The crawler bucks and bounces over rough terrain and everyone falls down.
Game two on the 'crawler', this time a level up, looking for the command post.
Still trying to find the damn key!

Games from the weekend!

Managed to sneak out-of-state for a few days to get in some games with a buddy.

First game of Battlegroup; Americans vs. Fallschirmjaegers.

The Fallschirmjaegers are dug in around a small group of houses on the bend in the road.
An American scout car is pinned by a 50mm AT gun.
The Fallschirmjaeger place an 88 in the crossroads to keep an eye on both approaching routes.
As they approach, the lead Sherman is knocked out by a panzerschreck team.
The Fallschirmjaegers held the road until armored reinforcements arrived.
The Americans advance down two axes.
Trying to avoid the MG teams and AT guns, the Americans try to flank wide with their infantry.

Game 2: Soviets vs. Germans - Soviet infantry advance into town.
On the German side, a Panzer IV creeps up.
Trying to avoid the Panzer IV's, my Grants begin hosing German infantry with machine-gun fire.
The Soviet BA-10 armored car barely escapes a confrontation with another Panzer IV.
The table for game two.
The table shortly before the end of the game.
The Grants manage to push the German flank, killing several infantry units and driving the rest away.  Meanwhile a mortar barrage smashes several advancing halftracks and their occupants.

We also played a few games of Scrapheap using whatever terrain we had on hand.
Ogryn slap fight!

Tokens for Zona Alfa, etc.

A buddy of mine wanted to do some Zona Alfa (which we've yet to do!) but he asked me to whip up a set of tokens for him.

I threw together a nice set of tokens which can be used for Zona Alfa or many other skirmish games, really.  Up now for sale on Gamecrafter as with all my other hobby projects.
